For as long as I can remember I've always been a Book Butterfly (they are prettier than worms!) with my nose stuck in a book, I fondly remember reading "Each Peach Pear Plum" and "The Hungry Catepillar" to my younger brother and was super excited when my mum got me a book called "My Topsy Turvey Adventure" for Christmas one year purely because I was the main character ~ I'm pleased to say that "Each Peach Pear Plum" is still in the family and is one of my nieces favourites, along with her own main character story of course!!
My early career was in childcare and story time was, without a shadow of a doubt, the best time of the day. I adored books like "We're Going On A Bear Hunt" to get them involved.
Obviously children's books were left at the nursery, at home a good chic-lit was my preference and I would spend all my free time reading.
Due to family issues, I lost my passion for a few years and never seemed to find the time to pick up a book, and when I did it would take me an absolute age to get through it.
Then last year I was given a book, I forget now what it was, and couldn't put it down... Thankfully this sparked my love and out came a few classics along with some new ones.
This year friends and clients have started asking for my book recommendations... Why is it you can never remember them all on the spot?
"You should start a blog" they said.
"It will help you to remember what you've read" they said.
And so, my little Book Corner was born. I feel like I'm at the beginning of my own story with blogging, although I can't see this novel ever having an ending ;-)
My blog is primarily for myself to keep track of what I've read and my view on it, however if it helps you to decide on whether to read it or not, then it's an added bonus!
